HEAD: How to Get Good Grades in Pet Care
Wait! Didn’t summer just get here? Back-to-school time is here, and it’s important to remember your fur kids this time of year as well.
With so much preparation for the upcoming school year, it’s easy to forget preventative care for your pets. Don’t let flea, tick, and heartworm medications lapse—and if it’s been over a year since your pet has seen the vet for an exam, schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Regular exams are vital to keeping your pet healthy because your vet is more likely to identify health issues before they become more serious problems.
Keep in mind also that pets get used to the extra attention they receive in the summer when family members are home more. If you can, try to ease your pet back into being alone during the day. Gradually increase the amount of time you leave your pet at home alone over a few weeks. If you don’t have time to do that, you can give treats when you leave so your pet associates being alone with good feelings.
