Reels: Reels are a bit of a blend between Stories and IGTV. These short form videos are anywhere from 15-30 seconds, and are designed to be short, snappy, and engaging.
TikTok: By far the most popular social media app of the moment, TikTok has enjoyed a dramatic rise in popularity during the Covid19 pandemic. Everyone was looking for a way to stay entertained, and the focus on short-form video, and trending sounds has continued to skyrocket in popularity.
TikTok’s main functionality is short 15-30 second videos (not with a 3 minute video option), that is primarily based on trending music or sounds. It allows the user to create a video, using someone else’s viral sound or a new song. Your hospital may want to consider using TikTok for more humorous, and silly skit-style videos.
Youtube: Ideal for longer format videos, and primarily horizontal, youtube is a great way to connect with users that will be online longer. It’s even an easy-to-use app on most smart TVs, allowing you to tune in from the comfort of your couch.
Facebook Live: It’s no mystery why Facebook Live is so popular. Videos see 3X the engagement of traditional videos shared on Facebook, and millions of users live stream on Facebook around the world! You can stream at a planned time, or go live with other users in a discussion format.
